The fourth grade tradition continues. We read the book Freckle Juice this week and then surprised the kids and actually made it. Some kids wanted to try the mix of grape juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, lemon juice and onions. I'm a little concerned about the few students who wanted seconds.
In the Spaghetti tower challenge, each team is given 20 pieces of spaghetti, 12 mini marshmallows, 1 yard of string and 1 yard of tape. They are asked to build the tallest free standing tower. Our class did great! We went against the other fourth grade classes and came in second place. We had a group build a tower that was 73 cm tall. The groups did amazing working and learning from each other. Mrs.Chateau's class won, but I told them Mr.Keef's class was coming to take it from them later this year!
This is a game we played on the first day of school called cup hands. Students use "cup hands" to stack as many dice as you can. We played it in teams and worked together to encourage and challenge each other.
